Privacy Policy
Effective November 8, 2026. Plain English first: your records are yours. We use them only to help you prepare your claim, we never sell them, and you can delete everything at any time.
Who we are
US Vet AI ("we", "us") operates usvetai.com, the veteran portal at portal.usvetai.com and the US Vet AI mobile app. US Vet AI is an education and preparation tool. We do not file claims, transmit anything to the VA, or represent you before the VA.
What we collect
- Account information from Google sign-in: your name, email address and profile picture.
- What you enter in the portal: identity and service details (never your Social Security number), your Career Summary, conditions, exposures, DBQ answers, and the Master Strategy VIA builds for you.
- Documents you upload (for example your C-File, service treatment records, nexus letters).
- Questions you ask VIA, our AI guide, and the answers it gives.
- Subscription records: plan, status and payment dates. Card and PayPal details are handled by Stripe and PayPal; we never see or store your card number.
- Basic technical data: a sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in, and server logs (IP address, browser, time) kept for security.
What we never collect or store
Your Social Security number. When you fill in VA Form 20-10206 in the portal, the form is completed on your own device and your SSN is never sent to our servers.
How we use your information
- To run your portal: save your progress, build your Master Strategy, prepare your DBQ drafts and 21-526EZ worksheet.
- To answer your questions with VIA. Your text is processed by the AI model we operate for US Vet AI; it is not used to advertise to you.
- To bill your subscription and send account messages (receipts, security notices).
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We do not sell your information, share it with advertisers, or use your records for marketing.
How we protect it
- Uploaded documents are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and only you can open them. Our staff can see that a document exists (name, size, date) but cannot open it.
- All traffic uses HTTPS. Access to our admin console is limited to authorized team members and every admin action is logged.
- Our servers are operated by us; your records are not stored with third-party analytics services.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run US Vet AI: Google (sign-in), Stripe and PayPal (payments), and our hosting infrastructure. Each receives only what it needs. We may disclose information if the law requires it, and we will tell you when we are allowed to.
Your choices and rights
- See and change everything you entered, any time, in the portal.
- Download your worksheet and DBQ drafts as PDFs.
- Delete your account in Account & Billing → Delete account. This permanently erases your claim data and documents. Billing records required by tax law are kept for the legally required period.
- Cancel your subscription at any time; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, your claim data and documents are erased immediately and removed from backups within 30 days.
Children
US Vet AI is for veterans and adults helping them. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the portal before the change takes effect.
